Unfortunately, Toronto Raptors star Scottie Barnes suffered a foot injury during their recent game against the New York Knicks. In the third quarter, while attempting to block Karl-Anthony Towns, Barnes landed awkwardly and immediately reached for his right foot in pain. He had to be helped off the court without putting any weight on his foot.
The team later announced that Barnes had sustained an ankle sprain, but the extent of his injury is still unknown. This comes after Barnes missed significant time earlier in the season due to an orbital fracture. Despite his absence, the Raptors fought hard against the Knicks, with R.J. Barrett leading the team with 30 points and eight rebounds.
The Knicks ultimately secured the win with a 5-0 run at the end of the game, led by Towns and Jalen Brunson. The victory marked their fifth win in six games, improving their record to 15-9 for the season. On the other hand, the Raptors fell to 7-18 overall, with Jakob Poeltl and Ja’Kobe Walter contributing to the effort.
As Barnes faces another potential setback, the Raptors have a single game against the Miami Heat coming up. It remains uncertain how long Barnes will be out of action, but the team hopes he can return soon to continue his stellar performances on the court.
