Marvin Bagley, the big man for the Washington Wizards, suffered a severe knee injury during Monday night’s game in Oklahoma City.

In the fourth quarter of their game against the Thunder at the Paycom Center, Bagley fell to the court after a collision with Thunder forward Isaiah Hartenstein, who landed directly on Bagley’s right knee. The impact caused Bagley’s knee to bend awkwardly, resulting in significant pain for the player.

Bagley had to be assisted off the court and was taken to the locker room. Unfortunately, he was unable to return to the game, and the extent of his injury is currently unknown.

Bagley, who was averaging 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season, joined the Wizards last season after being traded by the Detroit Pistons. The 25-year-old was drafted second overall out of Duke in 2018 and has already played for three different teams in his short NBA career.

Despite Bagley’s injury, the Thunder secured a 123-105 victory, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the way with 41 points and nine rebounds. Jalen Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein also had strong performances for the Thunder.

On the Wizards’ side, Jordan Poole stood out with 31 points and seven assists, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. The team has struggled recently, losing five of their last six games and holding the worst record in the league.

The Wizards will look to bounce back in their upcoming game against the Charlotte Hornets at home on Thursday.
