Wayne Rooney has stated that he remains unfazed by criticism from Plymouth Argyle fans amidst their disappointment with the team’s recent poor performance.
The pressure on Rooney has escalated as Plymouth currently sits at the bottom of the Championship table following a 2-0 loss to Oxford United.
With six losses and three draws in their last nine games, some fans have even called for Rooney’s dismissal during the match against Oxford.

Despite the mounting criticism, the 39-year-old coach remains confident that he can change the team’s fortunes.
Rooney expressed, “I don’t take the criticism personally. It’s understandable given our current results. I believe we can turn things around.”
He added, “I will analyze the game, prepare for Bristol City, and continue working hard to improve our performance.”
Rooney took over as Plymouth head coach in May but has faced challenges in the Championship this season, with the team only winning four games, drawing six, and conceding 51 goals.
When asked about his job security, Rooney remarked, “That’s up to the board. I will continue to work hard and do my best to help the team win matches.”
He concluded, “We are all striving to make the right decisions and achieve positive results, even though it has been a tough few weeks.”
