Draymond Green on whether Warriors would mortgage future to win now: ‘Bad teams do that’

DETROIT — The Golden State Warriors have shifted from being a team on a winning streak to one struggling to find their footing, aiming to regain their status as contenders in the Western Conference.

Amid speculation around the league, questions arise about whether the team’s management and ownership are prepared to make the necessary roster changes to support Stephen Curry and Draymond Green in their quest for a fifth championship.

Interestingly, Green is aligned with the approach the Warriors have taken. Despite considering moves for players like Paul George in the past, they have opted to stay the course rather than making drastic decisions.

“The advantage of our current situation is that Steve Kerr, Steph Curry, and I all agree on not sacrificing the future of the organization for short-term gains,” Green told Yahoo Sports following the Warriors’ 107-104 victory over Detroit.

“Teams in trouble do that. We are not one of those teams.”
