Jiri Prochazka has unveiled a bold new look ahead of UFC 311, having shaved his head for a special cause.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion shared that his head shave was in support of Ashley McGarity, a young woman battling cervical cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
McGarity had previously cut her hair to match Prochazka’s iconic war braid, and now he has reciprocated the gesture while also making a donation towards cancer research.
“This hair was inspired by Ashley,” Prochazka explained. “She’s fighting cancer. She will be here tomorrow.”
Prochazka announced a generous donation through his foundation to support oncologist patients, coinciding with reaching 1 million followers on Instagram.
Prochazka’s donation amounts to approximately $50,000, with UFC CEO Dana White pledging to match the contribution.
McGarity is set to attend Prochazka’s fight at UFC 311, where he will face Jamahal Hill in a critical bout at 205 pounds.
Both fighters are seeking redemption following losses to UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira, aiming to re-enter the title picture after the event.
