Marcel Shaefer, Leipzig’s board member for sport, expressed his satisfaction with the deal, stating, “We’ve been working towards this transfer for a while now, and we are delighted to have Xavi on board. This move aligns with our sporting and financial objectives, and we are excited to have him as a permanent part of our team.”

Xavi, who has impressed with 15 goals and 19 assists in 60 games for Leipzig, shared his enthusiasm about the move, saying, “I feel truly at home in Leipzig and am grateful for the support from the club. Our focus now is on achieving our goals for this season, including qualifying for the Champions League and reaching the DFB-Pokal final.”
