Aaron Judge continues to make history this season, leaving his mark on the record books with each swing of the bat.
The New York Yankees star smashed his 57th home run of the season in a thrilling game against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, leading a ninth-inning comeback that fell just short as the Yankees ultimately lost 9-7.
Judge’s latest homer brings him closer to the coveted 60-home run mark with only four games left in the season. It also marked his 142nd RBI of the season, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished since Prince Fielder and Ryan Howard achieved it in 2009. Judge’s impressive stats include 131 RBI in his 62-homer season in 2022.
With his outstanding performance this season, Judge is making a strong case for his second MVP award. Leading the league in various categories such as walks, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS+, total bases, and bWAR, Judge’s dominance on the field is undeniable.
As for the Yankees, they currently hold a 92-66 record with their magic number to clinch the AL East standing at one. Their next opportunity to secure the division title will come against the Orioles on Thursday, featuring a pitching duel between Gerrit Cole and Corbin Burnes.
