Adriano Moraes and Yuya Wakamatsu are set to clash once again at ONE Championship 172 to determine the new flyweight champion. The highly anticipated event will be held at the prestigious Saitama Super Arena in Japan on March 23.

The main event will feature a thrilling five-round kickboxing battle between Takeru Segawa and Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Moraes, with a record of 21-5, previously defeated Wakamatsu in March 2022 to retain his title before facing two losses against the now-retired Demetrious Johnson. Wakamatsu (18-6) has earned his shot at the ONE belt by securing three consecutive wins since 2023, including knockout victories over Wei Xie and decision wins against Danny Kingad and Gilbert Nakatani.

ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong expressed his excitement for the upcoming event, stating, “ONE Championship will return to Japan for the fourth time, featuring one of the most anticipated kickboxing matchups in history at the Saitama Super Arena. Takeru and Rodtang are both legends in their own right, and fans can expect an epic showdown between these two elite fighters.”

He added, “Additionally, the clash between former flyweight champion Adriano Moraes and Japan’s Yuya Wakamatsu for the vacant ONE flyweight MMA world title promises to be a thrilling encounter. This event will mark another historic night in Japan, and we are grateful for the support of U-NEXT in making it possible.”
