Alexa Grasso is gearing up for her next fight.
The former UFC flyweight champion is scheduled to take on rising star Natalia Silva on May 10 at UFC 315, set to happen at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This matchup will be Grasso’s first non-title fight since her victory over Viviane Araujo in October 2022.
News of the fight was announced by UFC’s Canadian broadcast partner, Sportsnet, earlier this week.
Ranked as Uncrowned’s No. 7 pound-for-pound fighter globally, Grasso is finally moving on from her intense rivalry with Valentina Shevchenko that lasted over two years.
In 2023, Grasso shocked the MMA world by capturing the UFC title with a submission win over Shevchenko at UFC 285. Shevchenko had defended the UFC flyweight title seven times before that, a record in the division. The rematch ended in a split draw, and the trilogy bout at UFC 306 resulted in a decisive victory for Shevchenko, leaving their series tied at 1-1-1.
Grasso will now return to the flyweight division to face Silva (18-5-1), a highly-regarded up-and-comer who defeated former champion Jessica Andrade in her last fight.
Along with Andrade, Silva has secured victories over other tough opponents like Araujo, Andrea Lee, and Jasmine Jasudavicius.
