Alexander Volkanovski does not believe he is among the top five greatest fighters of all time.
The debate over who holds the title of the Greatest of All Time in MMA is a constant topic of discussion. In recent years, Volkanovski has garnered attention for his impressive featherweight title reign. However, with losses in three of his last four fights, including two at lightweight against champion Islam Makhachev, some fans are reevaluating his place in the rankings. Whether it is due to his recent setbacks or his innate humility, Volkanovski does not place himself in the top five fighters of all time.
During a Q&A session on his YouTube channel, Volkanovski shared his list of top fighters of all time. He mentioned Demetrious Johnson, Jon Jones, Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, and his teammate Israel Adesanya as some of the greatest fighters to have graced the octagon. Interestingly, Volkanovski did not include himself in this elite group, despite his impressive accomplishments in the featherweight division.
As teammates at City Kickboxing, it is not surprising that Volkanovski praised Adesanya’s skills. However, his omission from his own list has raised eyebrows among fans who consider him to be one of the greatest featherweight champions in UFC history.
