The All-MLB Teams for 2024 Unveiled
The 2024 All-MLB teams were recently announced, recognizing the top players at each position across both leagues. Unlike the All-Star Game, which typically focuses on first-half performance, the All-MLB teams take into account a player’s entire season.
Only 16 players make the first team, showcasing the absolute best in the game. Here are some of the standout players who were honored:
C: William Contreras, Milwaukee Brewers
1B: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Toronto Blue Jays
2B: Ketel Marte, Arizona Diamondbacks
3B: José Ramírez, Cleveland Guardians
SS: Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals
OF: Juan Soto, New York Yankees
And many more exceptional players were recognized for their outstanding performances throughout the season.
Second Team Selections
The second team also featured some notable names, including:
C: Salvador Pérez, Kansas City Royals
1B: Bryce Harper, Philadelphia Phillies
The awards show, held in Las Vegas, also recognized other achievements in baseball, such as the Comeback Player of the Year and Reliever of the Year Awards. The event was hosted by Roy Wood Jr., with appearances by top players in the game.
As with any awards show, there were some surprises and controversies. One notable debate was Betts being chosen over Duran for the first-team outfield, despite Duran’s impressive season.
However, there was no question when it came to the first-team DH, with Shohei Ohtani rightfully earning the honor and continuing to prove his dominance in the game.
