Anthony Edwards has made a name for himself as a rising NBA superstar who isn’t afraid to speak his mind. After winning gold with Team USA, Edwards sat down for an interview with Lane Florsheim of the Wall Street Journal and made some bold statements that got NBA Twitter buzzing.

One of the most controversial comments Edwards made was about the skill level of players in the 1990s compared to today. He claimed that only Michael Jordan had real skill back then, implying that the rest of the players lacked it. This sparked a debate among fans about the talent of that era.

Anthony Edwards’ Controversial Take

During the interview, Edwards was asked about how today’s basketball generation differs from older ones. He admitted that he hadn’t watched basketball in the 1990s but still went on to criticize the skill level of players from that era.

While Edwards’ opinion may not sit well with some fans, it’s important to remember the greats who played during that time, including Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and John Stockton. These players were part of a talented group that shaped the NBA in the ’90s.

Interestingly, Edwards has often been compared to Jordan for their similar playing styles and mentality. By mentioning Kobe Bryant in his comments, Edwards highlighted the evolution of skill in today’s game compared to the past.

It remains to be seen if Edwards will clarify his statements, but one thing is for sure – his boldness has sparked a lively discussion among basketball fans.
