Anthony Smith and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson have resolved their recent feud.
The disagreement started when Smith criticized Jackson and his JAXXON podcast co-host Bear Degidio for their comments about fighters on their show. Jackson responded by threatening to confront Smith the next time they meet.
However, Smith clarified the situation during an interview with Submission Radio.
“I love Rampage even though he said he’s going to slap the shit out of me,” Smith said.
Smith explained that he reached out to Jackson to clear up any misunderstandings and that they have since been communicating about the issue.
“I think Rampage and I had a little bit of a misunderstanding. I thought he was mad about something else, not what I actually said,” Smith stated.
Smith believes that the podcast format can sometimes lead to misinterpretations, as comments can be taken out of context easily.
“I think we had a misunderstanding because he wasn’t mad about the things I said about Bryce,” Smith said. “He was mad because he thought I was rehashing something else, which wasn’t my intention.”
Smith emphasized that the issue has been resolved and that there is no longer any tension between him and Jackson.
“I never want any heat with Rampage,” Smith said. “I told him yesterday and I’ve said it multiple times. Rampage was and is my favorite fighter. I would never do anything to create any issues with him.”
The JAXXON podcast Instagram page hinted at a potential fight between Smith and Rampage, but Smith made it clear that the beef has been squashed.
“Rampage and I are good,” Smith concluded.
