Barcelona and Atletico Madrid Thrill in 4-4 Draw
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid delivered an electrifying performance in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals, ending in a tense 4-4 draw.
Atletico took an early 2-0 lead, only to find themselves trailing 4-2 before staging a remarkable comeback with two late goals.
Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann put Atletico ahead within minutes, but Barcelona fought back with goals from Pedri and Pau Cubarsi to level the score by the 21st minute.
The Catalan side took a 3-2 lead into halftime, courtesy of goals from Inigo Martinez and Robert Lewandowski.
Atletico clawed their way back with strikes from Marcos Llorente and Alexander Sorloth in the final minutes, setting up an intense second leg at the Metropolitano Stadium in April.
The victor will face either Real Madrid or Real Sociedad in the final.
Inter Secures Semi-Final Spot Against Milan
Meanwhile, Inter secured their spot in the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over Lazio, setting up a showdown with city rivals AC Milan.
Marko Arnautovic’s stunning volley from outside the box and Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty sealed the win for Inter, who will now face AC Milan in a highly anticipated two-legged tie in April.
