Barcelona are in talks with N’Golo Kante as they consider adding a senior midfielder to their squad before the transfer window closes.
Kante left Chelsea last summer and joined Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, where he regained his fitness and impressed at Euro 2024 with the French national team.
Barcelona’s interest in Kante has been reignited, with reports suggesting a potential move as the player may be looking to leave Saudi Arabia.
Sporting director Deco is keen on Kante, although Barcelona’s priority has been a left winger. However, the club is still considering strengthening their attacking options.
Barcelona must assess whether they need reinforcement in midfield, especially after a recent defeat where they lacked physicality. A decision on pursuing Kante will be made after the season opener.
Deco had been eyeing Amadou Onana, but he chose Aston Villa instead. Barcelona have also shown interest in Martin Zubimendi, who opted to stay at Real Sociedad.
West Ham United and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly interested in signing Kante.
