The Women’s Super League (WSL) has signed a new five-year contract with BBC Sport, extending their coverage until the 2029-2030 season.
As part of the agreement, BBC will broadcast 21 top-tier WSL games each season. Starting from the 2025-26 season, 14 of these games will be exclusive to BBC television, with the remaining seven available on BBC iPlayer and other digital platforms.
Aside from television coverage, WSL matches will also be accessible on BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, and various local BBC radio stations.
Highlights, goals, and clips from every WSL fixture will be available on the BBC Sport website, app, and social media channels.
This deal ensures that Sky Sports will also continue to broadcast WSL matches.
Alex Kay-Jelski, Director of BBC Sport, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating: “It’s great to see the WSL growing, and I’m delighted that the BBC is continuing as a partner on that journey.”

“We remain the most-used sports broadcaster in the UK, providing unparalleled cross-platform coverage, so it’s brilliant to be able to continue bringing the WSL to audiences as part of our free-to-air portfolio,” added Kay-Jelski.
Nikki Doucet, Chief Executive of Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), also shared her enthusiasm for the new broadcast rights deal, stating: “Agreeing the next cycle of broadcast rights was a priority for us, and we are very fortunate to have two premium broadcast partners in Sky Sports and the BBC who believe in the future and value of women’s football as much as we do.”
“The growth of the game is undeniable, and this deal is another step in the right direction and positive news for the fans, the players, and the clubs,” Doucet added.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sky will have exclusive rights to broadcast 78 WSL matches, while 34 matches will be available on WPLL’s official YouTube channel.
Sky’s deal also includes the option to broadcast matches from the Women’s Championship and Women’s League Cup, further expanding their coverage of women’s football in England.
