Joe Pyfer’s recent trip to UFC Mexico City was marred by illness, causing his middleweight fight against Kelvin Gastelum to be canceled. Pyfer took to social media to express his frustrations, stating that he had severe nausea, vomiting, and multiple trips to the bathroom throughout the night. Despite preparing diligently for the fight, Pyfer vowed to never return to Mexico, calling it a “s*** hole.”
However, Pyfer’s fight against Gastelum has been rescheduled for June 7 at UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey.
Meanwhile, former UFC flyweight champion Moreno, who hails from Mexico, responded to Pyfer’s comments by saying, “We don’t need him, as well. It’s mutual.”
After a successful win over Steve Erceg at UFC Mexico City, Moreno is eyeing a spot on the upcoming Noche UFC event in Guadalajara. He expressed his desire to fight for the title in front of his home crowd, hoping to solidify his legacy in the sport.
Moreno’s potential title shot hinges on the outcomes of upcoming fights in the flyweight division, particularly involving Manel Kape, Brandon Royval, Kai Kara-France, and UFC champion Alexandre Pantoja.
