Despite the challenging weather conditions at Royal Troon on Saturday in Scotland, Billy Horschel managed to secure a one-shot lead heading into the final round of the British Open. Horschel’s impressive short-game performance helped him shoot a 2-under 69, bringing his total score to 4-under for the week.
Throughout the round, Horschel demonstrated resilience and skill, making crucial par saves from difficult positions in bunkers. Despite a bogey on the 18th hole, he maintained his composure and finished strong.
Meanwhile, Daniel Brown, the overnight leader, faced a tough round but remained in contention until a double bogey on the final hole dropped him back to 3-under. With several other players also at 3-under, including Tristan Lawrence and Sam Burns, the competition for the Claret Jug remains fierce.
Horschel, a seasoned PGA Tour winner, is on the verge of potentially securing his first major championship victory. He emphasized the importance of visualizing success and manifesting his goals before each round, expressing his determination to lift the trophy as the Open champion.
