The Cleveland Browns are gearing up for reinforcements as they aim to turn around their 1-3 start and make a push for the NFL playoffs. Fans received exciting news on Sunday morning that star RB Nick Chubb is set to return from the physically unable to perform list.
Head Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed on Monday that Chubb will be back in practice on Wednesday.
Although Chubb’s availability for Week 5 remains uncertain, the Browns have a window of three weeks to activate him to the 53-man roster. Despite his injury and limited practice time, Chubb has a track record of defying the odds.
In addition to Chubb, the Browns have other players on the brink of returning:
- RB Nyheim Hines – Non-Football Injury List
- OL Michael Dunn – Non-Football Illness List
Cleveland’s injured reserve also features players eligible for return, with a limit of eight activations throughout the regular season and two more for the playoffs.
Three players on the Browns’ injured reserve are out for the season:
- OL Hakeem Adeniji
- WR David Bell
- OL Luke Wypler
After Week 1, four players were placed on IR with eligibility to return post-Week 5:
- S Juan Thornhill
- DT Maurice Hurst II
- LB Tony Fields II
- LB Mohamoud Diabate
Following Week 2, rookie CB Myles Harden joined the list, while Wyatt Teller awaits eligibility post-Week 7.
In addition to the above, players like David Njoku, Jedrick Wills, Jack Conklin, and Pierre Strong could also return soon after missing Week 4 due to injury.
With a potential influx of key players, the Browns’ active roster could see significant improvements in the coming weeks. Whether this will impact their season outcome remains to be seen, hinging on their ability to climb back to a .500 record in the near future.
