Bulls fans certainly will like what one insider said about big trade

Following the controversial trade between the Chicago Bulls and the Oklahoma City Thunder, opinions are divided on who got the better end of the deal. While many believe the Bulls lost out by swapping Alex Caruso for Josh Giddey, one prominent NBA analyst has a different perspective.

In a surprising one-for-one trade, the Bulls traded Caruso, a fan favorite, to OKC in exchange for the 21-year-old Australian player, Giddey. Despite Giddey’s lower stats in his third season, averaging 12.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists, the analyst, Simmons, believes the Bulls came out on top.

Simmons expressed his opinion on his podcast, stating, “I thought Chicago won the trade. To me, this was like one of the all-time buying low NBA trades of this century.”

While Giddey faced off-court controversies during his time with the Thunder, including allegations that were later dropped, his potential and versatility on the court make him an attractive prospect for the Bulls. At 10 years younger than Caruso and with a lower cost, Giddey’s skills as a guard align well with Chicago’s existing lineup.

Despite lacking in certain areas compared to Caruso, such as defense and three-point shooting, Giddey’s all-around game and resemblance to Lonzo Ball provide the Bulls with a valuable asset. The question now is whether Chicago will invest in Giddey long-term or leverage him for future moves.

For Simmons, the answer seems clear, as he sees Giddey’s potential as a key factor for the Bulls moving forward.
