The Los Angeles Rams have faced challenges on defense this season, and those struggles were evident in Sunday’s loss to the Bears. Despite rookie quarterback Caleb Williams’ earlier difficulties, he put together a strong performance in Chicago’s 24-18 victory over the Rams.
NFL researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming highlighted Williams’ impressive start at Soldier Field:
“Williams had a standout game against the Rams in Week 4, achieving a 70-plus completion percentage and a 100-plus passer rating for the first time in his career (73.9 percent and 106.6 rating, respectively).
The Bears, now 2-2, have won both their home games this season, marking a historic beginning to Williams’ career as the first rookie quarterback drafted first overall to win his first two home starts in the common draft era.”
Despite Williams’ previous struggles, the Rams failed to contain him. Prior to the game, Williams had a 2-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 59.3% completion rate. However, the Rams allowed him to find his rhythm and perform efficiently.
Although the Rams managed to pressure Williams with 3 sacks and 6 QB hits, he remained composed in the pocket, leading to his success against LA’s defense. The Bears’ shaky offensive line didn’t hinder Williams’ performance, as he excelled under pressure.
Caleb Williams had a 124.5 passer rating under pressure in week 4, the highest among all NFL quarterbacks.

The Rams need to quickly forget this game as they prepare to face Jordan Love and the Packers. They cannot afford another NFC North quarterback exploiting their defense.
