BOSTON — The Celtics made a statement in Game 1 of their playoff series against the Orlando Magic at TD Garden, showcasing their dominance on their home court once again.

Despite the Magic’s Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner outscoring Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter, led by Derrick White’s impressive performance with 30 points.

One standout player for the Celtics was Payton Pritchard, who epitomized the team’s depth and fighting spirit. His impactful contribution off the bench highlighted the team’s relentless mentality.

Head coach Joe Mazzulla emphasized the need for improvement despite the win, acknowledging areas such as rebounding and offensive execution that require attention.

Although Tatum and Brown faced some physical challenges during the game, they both showed resilience and determination, setting the tone for the team’s playoff run.

With players like Jrue Holiday stepping up and contributing to the team’s success, the Celtics demonstrated their strength and potential for a deep playoff run.

Overall, the Celtics’ performance in Game 1 showcased their depth and resilience, signaling a strong start to the series and setting a high bar for their opponents moving forward.
