After a stellar year that saw Jayson Tatum clinch his first NBA championship and secure an Olympic gold medal, the Boston Celtics star is setting his sights on another deep postseason run in 2025. Tatum recently appeared on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” where he made a bold prediction for the 2025 NBA Finals matchup. According to Tatum, the Celtics will face off against the Dallas Mavericks in a rematch of last season’s showdown.
“It’s gonna be a rematch,” Tatum confidently stated. “We’re gonna play Dallas again.”
If the series plays out anything like it did in 2024, with the Celtics triumphing over the Mavericks in just five games, Boston fans will have plenty to cheer about. Tatum was a standout performer for the Celtics, averaging impressive stats of 22.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game.
In addition to his on-court success, Tatum was also unveiled as the cover athlete for NBA 2K25, a milestone that he described as one of the coolest moments of his career. Reflecting on this achievement, Tatum shared, “Just as a kid, every kid grew up playing NBA 2K. First, you dream about being in the game, and that happens in your rookie year. Then, the top of the mountain is being on the cover. Just seeing it now is a surreal feeling. It’s incredible.”
Furthermore, Tatum’s financial portfolio received a significant boost over the summer as the Celtics secured their prized asset with a historic five-year contract worth a staggering $314 million.
