It’s a timeless reality of parenthood: No matter how impressive you may seem to the world, you’ll always be a bit nerdy in the eyes of your children. Even if you’re a legendary athlete like Tiger Woods.
Tiger Woods made a return to golf on Tuesday night in the new TGL indoor team golf league. Despite his team’s defeat, the highlight of the night was the hilarious commentary provided by his son Charlie.
Charlie didn’t hold back his opinions when Tiger chose to walk out to “Eye of the Tiger,” a song way before his time. His reaction to Tiger’s gameplay during the event was equally entertaining.
During the match, Kevin Kisner jokingly suggested that Charlie should take his place due to Kisner’s struggles. If Kisner continues to have off nights, this joke might turn into reality.
Tiger and Charlie share a strong bond, often seen playing together in events like the PNC Championship. Despite their close relationship, Charlie managed to defeat Tiger on the golf course for the first time last year.
“He beat me for nine holes,” Woods mentioned during the PNC Championship. “He has yet to beat me for 18 holes. That day is coming. I’m just prolonging it as long as I possibly can.”
Whether Tiger will return to outdoor golf courses remains uncertain. Following the TGL event, he mentioned that his physical health is not the issue, but rather his gameplay.
“I walked, what, all three rounds at PNC, had a great time there, and the walking is not the issue,” he said. “It’s my game is not very good.”
Whenever Tiger decides to make a comeback, Charlie will be there, supporting and providing his honest feedback, continuing their unique father-son dynamic.
