During the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Charlie Woods stole the show while playing alongside his father, Tiger Woods. The 15-year-old golfer made a remarkable ace on Sunday morning, marking his first career hole-in-one.
The crowd erupted with excitement as Charlie’s ball found the hole, leaving the young golfer in a state of disbelief. His body language seemed to ask, “Did that really just happen?” The surrounding celebration confirmed the reality of his impressive shot.
Tiger Woods, proud father, couldn’t contain his excitement, beaming with pride for his son’s achievement. Although Tiger missed witnessing Charlie’s spectacular shot, he was thrilled nonetheless.
Reflecting on his hole-in-one, Charlie shared with Golf Channel’s Jim Mackay, “It was a perfect 7-iron, so I just kind of hit it. Just 175, a little down off the left, little cut seven.” He continued, “It was awesome. I didn’t think it went in. I don’t believe anybody until I go up there and see it.”
The PNC Championship, a family team event, saw Team Woods take the lead at 17-under after Charlie’s ace on the par-3 fourth hole. Tiger’s daughter, Sam, joined the family affair as his caddie for the tournament.
In a surprising twist, Paddy Harrington, playing alongside his father Padraig, also made a hole-in-one on Sunday, shortly after Charlie’s impressive shot. The aces from Woods and Harrington marked the second and third in PNC Championship history.
As the tournament unfolded, Team Harrington found themselves in a four-way tie for the lead at 18-under after Paddy’s hole-in-one on the 185-yard par 3 eighth hole with a 6-iron.
