Chelsea is set to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, marking Enzo Maresca’s first encounter with this iconic London derby.

With four consecutive victories under their belt, including a dominant 5-1 win over ten-man Southampton, Chelsea is in high spirits as they close in on league leaders Liverpool. Maresca’s squad, led by the Italian in his debut season, has been impressive and could extend their lead over Spurs to 11 points with a win in north London.

Chelsea emerged victorious in both meetings with Spurs last season, with a memorable 4-1 win against nine-man Tottenham at their home ground. The Blues have a strong record in away games against Spurs, winning four out of their last five encounters, making them the favorites for Sunday’s match.

Here is the predicted lineup for Chelsea’s upcoming match against Spurs.

Nicolas Jackson

GK: Robert Sanchez – Despite Filip Jorgensen starting in the previous game, Sanchez retains his position as the number one goalkeeper. He will face a tough challenge against an attacking Spurs side and will need to be at his best.

RB: Malo Gusto – With Reece James sidelined due to injury, Gusto is set to continue in the right-back position during the busy festive period. The French defender has been in top form and will be a key player for Chelsea.

CB: Tosin Adarabioyo – With Wesley Fofana out with a hamstring injury, Adarabioyo will be vying for playing time alongside Badiashile and Disasi in the coming matches.

CB: Levi Colwill – Colwill, a promising young talent, will return to the lineup to face Spurs, where he will go up against Solanke. The battle between these two academy graduates will be one to watch.

LB: Marc Cucurella – With limited options at left-back, Cucurella has established himself as Maresca’s preferred choice in that position. He will be crucial in providing defensive stability on the left flank.

DM: Moises Caicedo – Caicedo has been a standout performer in the defensive midfield role, drawing comparisons to top players like Rodri and Rice. His presence will be vital in shielding the backline against Spurs’ attacking threat.

DM: Enzo Fernandez – Fernandez’s recent form has been exceptional, contributing with goals and assists from midfield. His energy and creativity will be key for Chelsea in both attacking and defensive phases.

RW: Noni Madueke – Madueke, a dynamic winger, will look to exploit Tottenham’s defensive vulnerabilities with his pace and skill. His performance will be crucial in unlocking Spurs’ defense.

AM: Cole Palmer – Palmer, a consistent performer for Chelsea, will be tasked with creating opportunities in the attacking midfield role. His ability to score and assist will be vital for Chelsea’s chances against Spurs.

LW: Pedro Neto – Neto, a versatile winger, will return to the starting lineup to provide width and creativity on the left flank. His ability to take on defenders and deliver quality crosses will be key for Chelsea’s attack.

ST: Nicolas Jackson – Jackson, a prolific goalscorer, will lead the line for Chelsea against Spurs. His past success against Tottenham makes him a dangerous threat, and he will be looking to add to his goal tally in this important match.
