Chris Paul has achieved a significant milestone in the NBA record books.
During a game on Sunday night, Paul made a pass to Harrison Barnes, which enabled him to tie Jason Kidd for second place on the NBA’s all-time assist list. Shortly after, with a pass to Victor Wembanyma, Paul surpassed Kidd with his 12,092nd career assist.
The historic moment occurred in the second quarter of the game against the New Orleans Pelicans. At the 7:06 mark in the quarter, Paul assisted Wembanyama on the left wing, who successfully made a shot from beyond the 3-point line, bringing the score to 49-45 in favor of New Orleans.
Paul’s achievement came in a season where he was brought in to mentor the NBA’s up-and-coming star. It was fitting that he reached this milestone with a pass to Wembanyama.
Currently, Paul is in second place on the all-time assists list, trailing only Hall of Famer John Stockton. Although Stockton’s record of 15,086 assists seems out of reach for Paul at 39 years old, he continues to make his mark on the NBA.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
