After securing victory in the NBA Cup, Damian Lillard is set to join an exclusive group. The point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks has recently signed a lifetime contract extension with Adidas, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
This agreement makes Lillard the fourth active NBA player to have a lifetime shoe sponsorship. He joins the likes of LeBron James and Kevin Durant, who have lifetime deals with Nike, and Stephen Curry, who has a lifetime deal with Under Armour that includes his own Curry Brand.
Since entering the league in 2012, Lillard has been a part of the Adidas family. Back in 2014, he inked a 10-year contract reportedly valued at up to $100 million. According to Charania, this deal came to an end this past offseason.
The eight-time All-Star has his own signature shoe line with Adidas known as the “Adidas Dame.”
Following his recent NBA Cup win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, Lillard, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo and head coach Doc Rivers, are working towards solidifying their roles within the Milwaukee Bucks as a championship-caliber team.
Currently, Lillard is averaging 25.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists for the season.
