A new matchup between two up-and-coming bantamweights has been confirmed for UFC on ESPN 66. Da’Mon Blackshear (16-7-1 MMA, 4-3-1 UFC) will face off against Alatengheili (17-9-2 MMA, 5-2-1 UFC) on April 26 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Sources close to the situation revealed the bout to MMA Junkie, although the promotion has not officially announced it yet.
Blackshear is coming off a quick turnaround, having secured submission victories over Cody Stamann and Cody Gibson at UFC Fight Night 254 in March to break a two-fight losing streak. Meanwhile, Alatengheili, representing Fight Ready, has won three of his last four fights, with his most recent bout resulting in a unanimous decision win over Kleydson Rodrigues at UFC Fight Night 241 last May.
The UFC Fight Night event in Kansas City now features a stacked lineup, including matchups such as Ian Machado Garry vs. Carlos Prates, Anthony Smith vs. Zhang Mingyang, Giga Chikadze vs. David Onama, and more.
