The Chargers will once again be missing key players Derwin James and Joey Bosa in practice this week. It seems that both are dealing with minor issues rather than serious injuries, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Additional players absent from practice, as reported by The Athletic’s Daniel Popper, include DJ Chark, Trey Pipkins, Will Dissly, Hayden Hurst, Nick Niemann, Thomas Harper, Tucker Fisk, and Chris Rumph.
Dissly and Hurst, who form the Chargers’ starting tight end duo, have both seen preseason action. Hurst notably took a hard hit in a previous game but was able to walk off the field on his own. Rumph is also recovering from an injury sustained in a previous matchup.
Niemann, Harper, and Fisk are working on recovering from minor injuries from their recent game against the Rams.

The final preseason game is crucial for players lower on the depth chart to showcase their skills for a roster spot or practice squad position. While these injured players may not have been expected to play, updates on James and Bosa are eagerly awaited to alleviate any concerns.
