Despite Masvidal landing more power punches and overall punches, Diaz emerged victorious with a majority decision. Fortunately, both fighters emerged from the grueling battle unscathed, with no significant injuries to report.
The California State Athletic Commission released the medical suspensions following the Diaz vs. Masvidal bout, with only a few fighters facing extended time off.
Diaz and Masvidal received mandatory six-day suspensions due to their 30-minute fight, with no additional time off required.
Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, who lost to Chris Avila, faces a four-day mandatory layoff, as does Avila following his sixth consecutive victory in the boxing ring.
