The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to bolster their starting rotation this week, with Clayton Kershaw and Tyler Glasnow returning to the mound. Manager Dave Roberts announced that Kershaw will be activated from the injured list and start on Thursday, following Glasnow’s start on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants.
Kershaw recently completed his third rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City, pitching four innings and allowing three runs and six hits. The veteran left-hander expressed his eagerness to contribute to the team, stating, “I want to be one of the best five guys we have…if they need me now, I’ll be ready.”
Meanwhile, Glasnow, who had been sidelined with back tightness, has been a standout performer for the Dodgers this season, recording 143 strikeouts in 109 innings with an 8-5 record and 3.47 ERA in 18 appearances.
The Dodgers have been plagued by injuries to their pitching staff, with several key players, including Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Walker Buehler, and Brusdar Graterol, currently on the injured list. Despite the challenges, the team received a boost with the activation of reliever Joe Kelly from the IL.
With Kershaw and Glasnow back in action, the Dodgers aim to strengthen their rotation and continue their pursuit of success in the 2024 MLB season.
