Draymond Green says Knicks will be ‘tough,’ but won’t make the Finals

Following the acquisition of Mikal Bridges and the re-signing of OG Anunoby, the New York Knicks have had a successful offseason, positioning themselves as potential championship contenders.

Despite this, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green remains skeptical of the Knicks’ chances.

During an episode of his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show,” Green commended the Knicks’ offseason moves, acknowledging their strong defensive capabilities and predicting they would be a formidable regular season opponent. However, he stopped short of placing them in the contender category.

Green emphasized the Knicks’ defensive prowess under coach Tom Thibodeau and recognized their offensive weapons. Nevertheless, he believes they may struggle to surpass teams like the Boston Celtics in the long run.

While some in the NBA world view the Knicks as potential contenders, Green remains unconvinced of their ability to reach the Finals in the next few years. He anticipates that the team may need to make adjustments and potentially part ways with players to rebuild in the future.

As the Knicks continue to refine their roster and assess how all the pieces fit together, it is evident that they are no longer seen as an underdog story but rather a team with real expectations.
