Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane played hero for England in a thrilling match against Slovakia on Sunday.

Bellingham scored a spectacular bicycle kick goal in the 95th minute to equalize the score, followed by Kane’s decisive goal in extra time, securing a 2-1 victory for England and a spot in the quarterfinals.

Slovakia took the lead with a goal from Ivan Schranz in the 25th minute and defended admirably until Bellingham’s late heroics. His goal, coming in added time, was England’s first shot on target throughout the game.

Kane then put England ahead with his second goal of the tournament, officially scored in the 91st minute. Bellingham’s goal marked a turning point for the young midfielder, who had struggled to make an impact in earlier matches.

England manager Gareth Southgate made defensive substitutions after Bellingham and Kane’s goals to secure the win. Despite Slovakia’s late pressure, England held on to set up a quarterfinal clash with Switzerland.

England struggled against Slovakia’s defense

Following Slovakia’s early goal, England faced a resilient defense that forced them to find a breakthrough. Despite a disallowed goal by Phil Foden in the 50th minute, England pushed forward and eventually found success through Bellingham and Kane.

The victory against Slovakia, though hard-fought, raised questions about England’s ability to compete for the Euro 2024 title. Despite entering the tournament as favorites, England had underwhelmed in the group stage.
