The EFL Cup third-round clash between Newcastle and AFC Wimbledon scheduled for tomorrow night has been called off due to flooding in south west London.
Overnight inclement weather has rendered the pitch at the Cherry Red Records Stadium unsuitable for play.
No new date has been announced for the rescheduled match.
A statement from Wimbledon reads: “We regret to inform supporters that due to extensive flooding overnight of the River Wandle and surrounding areas, including our Cherry Red Records Stadium, Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup third-round fixture against Newcastle United has been postponed.
“Further details regarding the rescheduling of the fixture will be provided in due course.
“The stadium remains closed until further notice.”
Newcastle’s first defeat of the season came at the hands of nearby Fulham on Saturday, with the Cottagers securing a 3-1 victory.
