Cardiff City pays tribute to the late Sol Bamba, honoring him as a “club legend” and a “true gentleman”.
Bamba, who had stints with Leeds United, Middlesbrough, and Leicester, as well as representing Ivory Coast with 46 caps, passed away at the age of 39 on Friday.
His death was confirmed by Turkish club Adanaspor, where Bamba worked as a technical director. The Adanaspor statement expressed condolences to his family and the community.
Bamba successfully battled non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2021, returning to the pitch five months after his diagnosis.
