The 2024 French Open men’s singles final will feature Carlos Alcaraz against Alexander Zverev, scheduled for Sunday at 9 a.m. ET on NBC.

Zverev secured his spot in the final by defeating Casper Ruud in four sets, with a score of 6-2, 2-6, 4-6, 6-2. This will mark Zverev’s first appearance in the Roland-Garros final, and the 27-year-old German has consistently reached at least the semifinals since 2021. Additionally, this will be Zverev’s second Grand Slam final appearance, with his first being at the 2020 U.S. Open where he fell to Dominic Thiem.

Alcaraz advanced to the final after a thrilling five-set match against Jannik Sinner, with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Despite Sinner’s loss, he will ascend to the No. 1 spot in the ATP rankings after the French Open. On the other hand, the 21-year-old Spanish player will have the opportunity to add another Grand Slam title to his name, having previously won Wimbledon in 2023 and the US Open in 2022.

This final marks a rare occurrence in the French Open, as it is only the second time since Rafael Nadal’s first win in 2005 that a member of the “Big 3” (Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer) will not win the tournament. The last time this happened was in 2015 when Stan Wawrinka claimed the men’s singles title.

Stay tuned for the exciting final showdown between Alcaraz and Zverev as they compete for the prestigious French Open title.
