Team France standout Guerschon Yabusele is set to join the Philadelphia 76ers, as reported by various media outlets.

The 28-year-old French forward has inked a one-year contract with the 76ers worth the league minimum of $2.1 million, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Yabusele maintained an average of 14 points per game during Team France’s impressive journey to winning the Olympic silver medal. In the gold medal final against the United States, he contributed 20 points, coming in second only to his teammate Victor Wembanyama. Despite Yabusele’s efforts, Team USA emerged victorious with a score of 98-87 against France.

Among Yabusele’s 20 points was a spectacular dunk over LeBron James, solidifying his place among the few players who have successfully dunked over the NBA superstar.

Having started his career playing for teams in France and China, Yabusele was drafted 16th overall by the Boston Celtics in the 2016 NBA Draft. After two seasons with the Celtics, he ventured back overseas in 2019.

Standing at 6 feet 8 inches, the forward has been part of Real Madrid since 2021. According to The Athletic’s Sham Charania, Yabusele had to resolve his $2.5 million contract with the Spanish team before making his NBA comeback.
