The New York Yankees welcome back a key player to their lineup as they face off against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night.
Gleyber Torres, who had been sidelined for two games due to a groin injury, is set to start at second base and bat fifth behind Alex Verdugo.
Although Torres has had a challenging season both at the plate and in the field, a recent benching seems to have sparked a resurgence in his performance.

In his last seven games, Torres has been on a tear, hitting .308 with one home run, four RBI, and a .783 OPS.
With the MLB trade deadline looming on July 30, the Yankees have been exploring potential additions at second base, adding uncertainty to Torres’s future with the team.
Regardless, the Yankees are counting on Torres to maintain his current form as they look to turn around a rough stretch of 6-16 in their last 22 games.
