New Tottenham recruit Archie Gray has been having a fantastic time in his first few weeks at the club. The 18-year-old, who was signed from Leeds for a potential fee of over £40 million, has already made a positive impression on the fans.
Gray has been filling in at center-back for Spurs during their pre-season matches due to the absence of key players like Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, and Radu Dragusin. Despite this, he has shown great composure and skill in his new position.
The young player’s preferred positions are right-back and central midfield, but he faces tough competition from Tottenham’s current star players. Nonetheless, Gray remains optimistic as he continues to settle in, and he is set to feature in the club’s upcoming tour of Japan and South Korea.
In an interview with the club’s media, Gray expressed his excitement about his time at Tottenham so far, saying, “It has been brilliant. I have enjoyed training a lot and getting to know everyone. It’s been a bit crazy.”

Reflecting on his inspirations growing up, Gray mentioned Ben Davies, who recently celebrated his tenth year at the club, making him the longest-serving player. Davies shared his thoughts on his decade at Spurs, emphasizing the pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the white shirt.
Davies remarked, “It’s one of those things where it’s obviously a long time, but it’s felt very quick. There have been plenty of ups, plenty of downs as well, but I wouldn’t have it any other way… it’s been great.”
He added, “There are so many highlights, but I think back to when I made my debut for this club, the first time you pull on the shirt, you realise the magnitude of this club, you realise who you are playing for, and you feel that responsibility. Over 10 years later, that feeling has never gone away.”
