Real Madrid may have to do without winger Vinicius Jr for up to a month following news of a thigh injury, as announced by the European champions.
The Brazilian player featured in the entire 90 minutes during Madrid’s 3-0 victory against Leganes, where he assisted Kylian Mbappe for the opening goal.

However, Madrid provided an update this morning revealing Vinicius Jr’s injury struggle, with reports suggesting he could be sidelined for the rest of the matches in 2024.
He will definitely miss the upcoming game against Liverpool in the Champions League and is unlikely to feature in the Intercontinental Cup final on December 18.
Vinicius Jr has faced thigh issues in the past, but this recent problem was only identified post the Leganes match.
Potential opportunity for Mbappe
This situation poses a challenge for coach Carlo Ancelotti but also presents a solution, as Mbappe could step in as the obvious replacement on the left side of the attacking trio.
France’s captain Mbappe has been playing centrally but is expected to revert to his preferred position now.
If the projected timeline holds true, Vinicius Jr could miss up to eight matches considering Madrid’s packed schedule leading up to the winter break.
The recent victory against Leganes has brought Madrid within four points of La Liga leaders Barcelona, with a game in hand.
