Babar Azam is considered one of Pakistan’s top batters in the modern era of cricket. Despite being a key player in the batting lineup in recent years, his performance in Test cricket has seen a decline.
Babar and Pakistan currently occupy the sixth position on the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table. As they gear up for the upcoming round of Test matches leading to the WTC final, Babar will need to showcase all his skills to help his team secure victories.
Formerly the captain in the longer format, Babar will now play under the leadership of fellow batsman Shan Masood. Surprisingly, relinquishing the captaincy has not affected his form as a player.

How has Babar Azam performed in Tests?
Babar Azam has experienced a dip in form over the last two seasons. While he was dominant in red-ball cricket from 2018 to 2022, his performance has tapered off since then.
Having scored just over 250 runs in Test cricket since 2023, Babar will need to rediscover his form in the upcoming home games against Bangladesh and England.
