Dwyane Wade to Receive Statue Outside Miami Heat Arena
Dwyane Wade is set to be honored with a statue outside the Miami Heat’s arena, a well-deserved tribute to one of the greatest players in the team’s history. The bronze statue will be unveiled on Oct. 27 during a two-day celebration dedicated to Wade’s legacy.
The ceremony will take place at the Kaseya Center West Plaza, where Wade will be joined by current Heat team members, team officials, and special guest Rick Ross, who will perform at the event. Fans will have the opportunity to see the statue for the first time on the steps leading to the arena. Tickets for the free event must be reserved in advance due to limited capacity.
The festivities will continue the following evening with “Dwyane Wade Statue Night” during the Heat’s game against the Detroit Pistons. Wade, who won three championships with the Heat and was inducted into the Hall of Fame, will be honored throughout the game with video tributes and a halftime address to the crowd.
Team president Pat Riley expressed his admiration for Wade, stating, “Dwyane’s legacy is a towering one not only for the Miami Heat but for Miami-Wade County. I can’t think of a better way to honor him than by memorializing that legacy.”
Renowned sculptors Omri Amrany and Oscar León of Rotblatt Amrany Studio are the masterminds behind the creation of the statue, as announced earlier this year by the Heat.
Wade’s contributions to the Heat franchise are unparalleled, as he holds numerous records and achievements. His impact on the team and the community is truly remarkable, making the statue a fitting tribute to his remarkable career.
