Exciting news for Indian cricket fans as BCCI secretary Jay Shah announces Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. Gambhir, the former opener and KKR mentor, will take over from Rahul Dravid after the T20 World Cup.
Gambhir’s appointment comes after speculation and his successful stint with KKR in the IPL. He will lead the team on their upcoming Sri Lanka tour in July for three ODIs and T20Is.
According to Jay Shah, Gambhir’s clear vision and experience make him the perfect choice for the role. Gambhir expressed his honor at being back with the Indian team and is determined to make every Indian proud.
His first challenge will be the Border-Gavaskar series in Australia in November, followed by the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan in February 2025.
