Manchester United’s pursuit of Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite seems to have hit a roadblock, with the young defender hinting that he is likely to stay at Goodison Park for the upcoming season.

Despite interest from United, who have failed to meet Everton’s £70m valuation for Branthwaite, the player has expressed his commitment to his current club. United have since focused their attention on other defensive targets, including Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt.

In a recent interview, Branthwaite discussed his goals for the upcoming season without directly addressing the transfer speculation. His dedication to improving and learning from his experiences indicate that he is content with remaining at Everton.

While United still hold an interest in Branthwaite, a transfer is unlikely unless Everton lower their asking price, which currently reflects the player’s value and contract status.

Branthwaite’s focus remains on the new season, aiming to build on his successful campaign and continue his development. His dedication to improving and contributing to Everton’s defensive record is evident in his recent statements.

Branthwaite emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong defensive record for Everton and expressed optimism for the upcoming season. He highlighted the team’s collective effort and the manager’s tactics as key factors in achieving success.

Looking ahead, Branthwaite aims to secure a regular place in the England squad after his debut experience. Despite missing out on Euro 2024, he remains determined to represent his country and impress future national team managers.

“Playing for England was a dream come true for me,” Branthwaite said. “I will continue to work hard for Everton and hopefully earn more opportunities to represent my country in the future.”

The young defender’s dedication and focus on improvement suggest that he is fully committed to Everton for the foreseeable future, despite interest from other clubs.
