With Gregg Berhalter being fired as the coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team, the search for his replacement is on. One potential target, Jürgen Klopp, has reportedly declined an offer to coach the team.
According to reports, U.S. Soccer reached out to Klopp, but he politely turned down further negotiations, stating his desire to take a break from soccer. Klopp left his position as manager of Liverpool after nine successful years with the team.
Despite the rejection, U.S. Soccer is still interested in pursuing Klopp as a candidate. With Klopp’s impressive track record, including winning eight major honors with Liverpool, he was seen as an attractive option to replace Berhalter.
However, with Klopp out of the running, U.S. Soccer will now turn its attention to other potential candidates such as Hervé Renard and Steve Cherundolo.
