Amidst the disappointing news of Sunday’s loss to the Chargers, it’s refreshing to find a glimmer of positivity.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Justin Herbert’s X-rays came back negative for any additional injuries. However, it has been confirmed that he re-aggravated his high ankle sprain from Week Two against Carolina.
#Chargers QB Justin Herbert, who aggravated his high-ankle sprain against the #Steelers and exited the game, had X-Rays that were negative after the game, source said. He’ll continue to be monitored this week.

Herbert tested his ankle before Sunday’s game and felt confident in leading the Chargers. Despite giving his team a 10-7 lead at halftime, things took a turn for the worse in the third quarter.
Now back in Los Angeles for a Week Four matchup against the Chiefs at SoFi Stadium, the Chargers must decide whether Herbert should play or if Taylor Heinicke should start. They may opt to give Herbert time to recover before their Week Six game in Denver.
