Following a heated altercation in the third quarter of the San Antonio Spurs’ matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder, multiple players were ejected from the game. The incident occurred at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio when Thunder forward Kenrich Williams and Spurs forward Julian Champagnie got into a scuffle near the scorers table.
It all began when Champagnie accidentally elbowed Williams in the face while attempting to pass the ball inside. This led to a confrontation between the two players, resulting in shoving and the involvement of coaches and officials to separate them. As a result, Williams, Champagnie, and Oklahoma City guard Lou Dort were ejected from the game, while Jeremy Sochan received a technical foul for his involvement in the scuffle.
Despite the chaos, the Thunder managed to maintain their lead and secure a 146-132 victory over the Spurs. Jalen Williams starred for Oklahoma City with a career-high 41 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed 31 points to the win. On the Spurs side, Stephon Castle led the team with 32 points off the bench, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Thunder’s dominance.
With the loss, the Spurs now have a 25-34 record and have struggled in recent games. On the other hand, the Thunder improved to 49-11 and showcased their offensive prowess by shooting over 54% from the field as a team.
