The Sacramento Kings’ head coach, Mike Brown, was handed a hefty $35,000 fine on Tuesday for his aggressive behavior towards an official during their recent game against the Brooklyn Nets. Brown, who is in his third season with the Kings, has a history of clashing with officials and was previously fined for similar incidents.
In the game against the Nets, Brown received a technical foul in the second quarter after charging towards an official to dispute a missed foul call. Despite his outburst, the Kings managed to mount a comeback and reduce the deficit, but ultimately fell short of securing a victory.
Brown, who led the Kings to their first playoff appearance in over 15 years in 2023 and was named NBA Coach of the Year, has a respectable record of 102-80 with the team. However, their recent performance has been lackluster, with four consecutive losses and only three wins in their last ten games.
The Kings, currently standing at 8-10, are gearing up to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday in hopes of turning their fortunes around.
