Kylian Mbappe will not be joining the France squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Israel and Belgium. The Real Madrid striker is recovering from a thigh injury that sidelined him for the recent games against Atletico Madrid and Lille in the Champions League. France manager Didier Deschamps decided to leave Mbappe out of the squad to allow him to focus on regaining full fitness with his club.
Antoine Griezmann, who recently retired from international football after earning 137 caps for Les Bleus, will also be absent from the squad. Deschamps acknowledged Griezmann’s significant contribution to the team and mentioned that it would be challenging to find a direct replacement for the experienced forward.
Christopher Nkunku has been called up to the squad after demonstrating his fitness at Chelsea. The French team will face Israel in Budapest before traveling to Brussels to take on Belgium in their upcoming fixtures.
The France squad includes players such as Alphonse Areola, Lucas Digne, Theo Hernandez, and Ousmane Dembele, among others, representing various clubs across Europe.
